The talkingbuildings.net web site was born through the Horizon Europe project SINCERE (2023-2026), based on an idea initially branded as "building stories", imagining a web space in which buildings share their stories and experiences similarly to how humans do it on various social media, but instead of relying on centralized platforms like Facebook and Instagram it was imagined that each building will host its own web blog, and all stories would be collected by an aggregator based on NetHood's Really Simple Federation concept.

To this end, a demo page of the Building Stories platform is available at building-stories.net since March 2025. However, the big success of the online heritage in dialogue, motivated the SINCERE researchers to reconsider the original strategy to build a "simple" platform collecting such stories as originally planned.

More specifically, it was decided to upgrade the idea of buildings impersonation to a thorough citizen science methodology, and dedicate a separate web page (this!) to guidelines and examples of engaging citizens in this inspiring and playful activity, branded as "Talking Buildings".

This will allow the building stories platform to capture more than just the impersonation attempts but a wider spectrum of posts on the renovation of cultural heritage buildings.

So, let's first make the #TalkingBuildings a well-known concept!
